She’s got IT: From Event to Career at BCG Platinion

She’s got IT is a women event designed for students, graduates and young professionals who are passionate about technology and curious about turning that passion into impact.

Over two immersive days, participants don’t just learn about IT strategy consulting at BCG Platinion - they experience it firsthand. Through hands-on sessions, real project insights and meaningful conversations, they explore how tech and strategy come together to drive change.

Two former participants share their insights into how the event shaped their careers at BCG Platinion.

Thao participated in our first edition of She’s Got IT in November 2023, completed her internship in late 2024 and now works as IT Associate in our Hamburg office.

Thao, how would you describe the event in 3 words?
Inspiring, empowering and connecting.

What role did the event play in your decision to apply for an internship afterwards?
It showed me how diverse and impactful IT projects are and made the role much more tangible. I also built connections I still value today.

How did attending the event help you prepare for interviews and your first weeks?
Through the event, I gained a much better understanding of typical project structures and problem-solving approaches. I also benefited from helpful tips shared by consultants on interviews and case preparation, even before the actual interview process started.

Melisa joined She’s Got IT in November 2024, completed her internship in early 2025 and seamlessly transitioned into her role as IT Associate in our Frankfurt office.

Melisa, what motivated you to apply for the event?
I was curious about tech consulting and wanted real insights into how BCG Platinion works. It also felt like a rare opportunity to join a women-focused event and exchange ideas in an open environment.

What was the most valuable insight?
That consulting and technology strongly complement each other. Conversations with consultants and real project insights showed me what the job truly looks like and made me feel this could be the right place for me.

What advice would you give to future participants?
Don’t put pressure on yourself. Come as you are, ask questions and use the opportunity to learn, connect and gain new perspectives.
