BCG Platinion launched.
BCG Platinion was launched in Cologne, Germany, adding IT architecture expertise to BCG’s existing capabilities. Our team and client base expanded rapidly, prompting us to open offices across Central Europe. These offices are dedicated to creating customized tech solutions that accelerate value for the world’s leading organizations.
Industry Practice Areas founded.
To cater to our clients' needs with specialized expertise, we introduced industry-specific teams for Financial Institutions, Consumer, Energy, Insurance, Technology, Media, and Telecommunications. These served as the basis for today’s global practice areas which have expanded to include Industrial Goods, Health Care, Principal Investors & Private Equity, Public Sector and Travel, Cities & Infrastructure.
Geographical reach expanded.
Building on our success in the German market, BCG Platinion expanded to North America in 2014, Western Europe in 2016, Asia-Pacific and Australia in 2017, and South America in 2018, ultimately opening over 70 offices around the globe.
Design capabilities expanded.
As demand for customer-centric design increased, BCG Platinion acquired MAYA Design, a Pittsburgh-based digital design and innovation lab, in 2017, and AllofUs, a London-based design and engineering consultancy, in 2019. Following these acquisitions, we expanded our footprint, introducing studio innovation hubs in Berlin, London, Pittsburgh, New York, Dallas, and Seattle.
