Together, we'll push the boundaries in crafting innovative and exciting  solutions to tackle some of today's most pressing climate and sustainability challenges. We're committed to the power of collaboration and are thrilled to unite a diverse group of global tech experts. Participants from 26 countries will form small teams and work together during a two-day on-site event, hosted in our hubs near Cologne, Casablanca, Dubai, Milan, Santiago de Chile, and São Paulo.

You will collaborate with each other, guided by a team of seasoned BCG Platinion professionals. At the conclusion of the two-day Hackathon, each team will  present their project—and yes, there will be prizes for the winners!

Participation is completely free, with all event-related expenses covered by us.

Globally, environmental sustainability has reached a critical juncture. We face an escalation of challenges, including the depletion of natural resources, deteriorating air and water quality, and rising pollution levels.

From renewable energy adoption and resource conservation to sustainable agriculture, effective waste management, and Green IT practices, the responsibility to nurture our planet is a shared one.  Addressing these crucial issues demands rapid, innovative solutions—this is where technology plays a vital role.

The Hackathon will take place on October 25-26 in our hubs in Cologne, Casablanca, Dubai, Milan, Santiago de Chile and Sāo Paulo. We will now review all applications and provide feedback to each applicant. We look forward to a fantastic Hackathon!

When will the Hackathon take place?

The BCG Platinion Hackathon will start in the morning of Friday, October 25 and end in the afternoon of Saturday, October 26. Please note that for some Hackathon hubs your arrival might be scheduled to take place on Thursday, October 24. Appropriate travel arrangements will be made for you by us.

Will the Hackathon take place remote or on-site?

The event is on-site only  in our hubs near Cologne, in Milan, Casablanca, Dubai, Santiago de Chile and São Paulo! Depending on which country you live in, you will be assigned to the Hackathon closest to your country of residence.

Who should apply to take part in the BCG Platinion Hackathon?

If you are an IT architect, technical consultant or similar who focuses on topics like creating apps, data science and engineering, or web solutions, or you are interested in IT consulting, this event is for you!

Are there any specific requirements regarding my IT skills?

You should have basic coding skills to participate.

What is the main language of the event?

Since the Hackathon is an international event, the main language will be English. On-site in South America the main language will be Spanish or Portuguese.

Will I incur any costs?

We will cover all approved event-related travel and accommodation expenses. There is no participation fee.

What if I can only join on one of the two event days?

Unfortunately, joining on  only one of the two event days is not possible, since the Hackathon requires teamwork. All participants will be divided into groups on the first day of the Hackathon and will work on ideas throughout both days of the event. On the second day, the final results will be presented to the entire group of participants.

Can we join the Hackathon as a team?

No, every participant should apply individually for participation. The team forming process will only take place on-site at the event to foster networking and exchange among all attendees.
